The executive Chairman of Badagry West Local Council Development Area , Hon. Joseph Henugbe GBENU,
has celebrated his one month in office, revealing some of his achievements in just 30 days.
Gbenu, who thanked the people of the LCDA for their unalloyed support to his administration, said “to further reassure you about my fitness for the job, I have since without prejudice rise up to the challenge and task ahead to fulfil your mandate.
According to the chairman, some of the achievement of his administration for the past thirty days includes;
Donation of free GCE forms to indigent students in the area as part of my administration Education Support Program; Prompt payment of chieftaincy council delayed salary and classic hosting; Revenue drive and reformation to boost internally generated revenue; approval of Kick off start for the renovation and completion of abandoned councilors house located at Welcome, OWODE; and Approval of Owode road (from the sandy border junction to Welcome junction) for grading to make it motorable pending proper palliative measures soon.
Others include; Approval of Cash bonus for all council staff for upcoming ILEYA/Eid-il-Kabir; Maintenance of deteriorated council equipments and furniture; Active representation and support to youth bodies; Felicitation with party faithfuls and welfarism of the party stalwart.
He also commended the effort of the councilors led by Hon. Femi Mukaila for their effort in monitoring and inspection of some of the IGR centres.
He said; “All of these would not have been achieved but for the cooperation and support of my dexterous staff, HODs and the council management.
He further thanked the councilors for their total cooperation and support, saying, “You have proven to be experienced in service to your fatherland and committed to a just course without selfish interest. I encourage us as councilors to continue in that spirit of focus as we work as a team.
“My sincere appreciation also goes to the political leaders, party excos and the YOU, I mean “MY GOOD PEOPLE”.
“I do hope to intensify plans as regards providing a lasting solution to the OWODE APA ROAD which is one critical area our people is complaining about. I understand how you feel and the pains you are passing through, please bear with me.
The chairman wished all Muslim faithfuls a peaceful /Eid-il-Kabir celebration, while announcing that a special service and celebration will hold at the LASG VIP chalet on the 1st of September.
“Let me at this juncture wish all our Muslim faithful a peaceful and fun filed celebration ahead of the ILEYA/Eid-il-Kabir.
“As part of the local government plan for the ILEYA festival, the general public is hereby enjoined to join other muslim faithfuls within the three local government for a special service and celebration at the LASG VIP chalet on the 1st of September as we rock it together, Gbenu said.
“On this note I wish you all a peaceful living as we continue to work as a team towards developing the Badagry West Local Council Development Area, he concluded.
