Edo State has sworn in All Progressives Congress (APC), candidate Mr Godwin Obaseki, as the new Governor.
The swearing which took place at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin follows the expiration of Governor Adams Oshiomole’s Administration.
Obaseki, who won the Governorship election in Edo State ahead of his counterpart, Pastor Ize Iyamu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was sworn-in by the Chief Judge of Edo State alongside his Deputy, Mr. Phillip Shuaibu.
Top government officials, political office holders and politicians were in attendance to grace the swearing-in of the new Governor in Edo State.
As a Governor elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, many APC Governors were in attendance so also was the Senate President, Bukola Saraki.
According to NAN, the outgoing Governor, Oshiomhole reviewed the parade mounted by the State Police Command before the oath of office was taken by the incoming Governor, Godwin Obaseki who will take on the mantle for the next four years.
