Manchester City have made history by becoming the first Premier League team to announce a shirt sleeve sponsor.
According to Man City’s chief commercial officer, Tom Glick, the move announced on Friday at Manchester City Football Academy, came as Nexen Tire, a tyre manufacturing company from South Korea renewed its partnership with the top-flight football club for three more years following the initial contract signed between Nexen and Manchester City in August 2015.
The new partnership deal will take the sponsorship right up to the 2019/2020 season. No specific financial details were revealed
Manager Pep Guardiola was on hand to unveil the new deal, which will see the company’s name feature on the City kit from next summer.
Guardiola was joined by injured pair Ilkay Gundogan and Gabriel Jesus.
