The Lagos Community Youth Volunteers, LSCYV, at the weekend trained its members on the practice of journalism, content writing and social media management.
The workshop which held at the Lagos Youth House in Yaba area of Lagos state had in attendance youths from different parts of the state.
Delivering a lecture titled; Special skills to becoming a successful Content Writer, the Editor of BreezeReporter, Adeyemi Olalemi noted that due to social media disruption, content writers must be on top of their game in delivering contents that add value to humanity.
He said, ”information is key to the socio-economic development of our society, adding that “those who publish information must be responsible and cautious about societal development and the ripple effect of such information”.
Olalemi listed ability to do proper research, mastering different writing style, originality, SEO and social media knowledge as some the skills needed by apiring content writers to be successful and to make temendous impact.
Others facilitators who spoke on various techniques and ways to manage information in the social media include, Miss Olowo Toke and the Administrator of Lagospedia, Bolaji Olamide.
Speaking on advert and publicity in the online media, Ms. Motunrayo Idris disclosed some of the opportunities in the world of Public relation and social media using a career as a case study.
Earlier, Comrade Dele Moses urged members to take advantage of the opportunities the training will open to them, noting that online information is the future.
Also in attendance are Comrade Akanni Michael, State Coordinator of LSCYV and Comr. Asoro Abubakri Olatunji, the Secretary of the organisation.
