Rhoda Jepkhorir of Kenya, the first female elite athlete to cross the finish line in Saturday’s 2nd Access Bank Lagos City Marathon, said she would gladly accept any Nigerian that approach her for marriage .
Jepkhorir spoke with Journalists at the finish point of the race saying that she will not turn down any Nigerian man who asks for her hand in marriage.
She said: “If a Nigerian man should ask for my hand in marriage, I will marry him because Nigerians are nice people.
“Nationality is no barrier, so far he is committed and caring, I will have no option,’’ she said.
While speaking on her love for Nigerians and the film industry, she said Aki and Pawpaw are her best actors.
“Aki and Pawpaw are my best actors in Nigeria, I have so much love for the Nigerian movie industry,’’ the athlete said.
Meanwhile, Jepkhorir is visiting Nigeria for the first time and was lucky to have won the race.
She noted that Nigeria is her dream country and the marathon has given her the opportunity to visit, an act which she iterated to do “over and over again”.
“The race has given me the opportunity to come to my dream country, I will come over and over again,’’ she said.
Meanwhile Abraham Kiptom of Kenya defended his title by winning the international category of the 2nd Access Bank Lagos City Marathon.
On the other hand, Philip Sharabutu also defended the first Nigerian male title and Emmanuel Gyang came second in the Nigerian male category.
