In Lagos: Landlord Lands In Serious Trouble For Removing Tenant’s Roof

A landlord has landed in serious trouble for removing his tenant’s roof at 24, Okiti lane, Off Iga-Iduganran Street, Lagos Island.

According to reports, Adekunle Akinsemoyin was sentenced to 10 months imprisonment for illegally removing the roofing sheet of his two tenants and demolishing the toilets.

The said landlord and one Musa Kalamu were arrested and charged to Igbosere Magistrates’ Court on three counts of conspiracy, malicious damage, breach of public peace and unlawful demolition on July 7, 2015, before

They pleaded not guilty to the charges but the Presiding Magistrate, A.T. Omoleye, sentenced the landlord to 10 months’ imprisonment with an option of N90,000 fine while Kalamu was discharged and acquitted due to lack of evidence linking him to the crime.
